RACE DAY RULES

  1. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at anytime.
  2. We reserve the right to remove any complete family from our events due to the behaviour of one family member.
  3. All riders must have a current Central Alberta Motocross membership.
  4. Anyone participating in CAMS races must have protective gear (Helmet,Boots, Gloves, Goggles etc)
  5. Any rider under the age of 18 years must have signed consent from a parent or legal guardian.
  6. Participants must not consume or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs that could affect their normal mental or physical ability.
  7. Any grievances in a race must be presented to CAMS executive, in writing, within 30 minutes of results being posted.
  8. Observed infractions to the rules of conduct must be reported to the CAMS executive.
  9. All riders must start the practice; no rider will be permitted to start racing unless they participated in practice.
  10. All riders must attend riders meeting. Absence may result in default start.
  11. Points will be awarded on the finishing position for each moto. Overall finish will be determined by the total number of points received in all of the motos they participate in, with the highest total being the overall winner.
  12. Points determined at moto finish = 1st-25, 2nd-22, 3rd-20, 4th-18, 5th-16, 6th-15, 7th-14, 8th-13, 9th-12, 10th-11, 11th-10, 12th-9, 13th-8, 14th-7, 15th-6, 16th-5, 17th-4, 18th-3, 19th-2, 20th-1.
  13. A rider must complete at least half of the scheduled number of laps to receive points for that moto.
  14. In the case of a tie in overall points, the rider with the higher placing in the last moto will receive the higher overall finish position.
  15. Once results are posted there will be a 15-minute NO CONTACT period followed by a 30-minute protest period.
  16. All protests must be made in writing to the Race Official by the Racer. This is for all classes. Failure to comply will result in protest not being considered.
  17. Protests outside of 30 minutes, unless a result of a technical error, will not be considered. It is the responsibility of the racers to check the results within the 30 minute period.
  18. Any protest or discrepancies taken to ANYONE other than the Discrepancy Race Official during and after, the 30-minute protest period will result in a Disqualification.
  19. If you move down in your race class you take no points with you. If you move up you will take half your points.
  20. Due to mechanical issues race will be held for up to 2 minutes.
  21. Race numbers must be visible on all 3 number plates. Failure to do so will result in a black flag.
  22. Riders who do not make lap scorers and race official aware of number and bike change will result in no points for that moto and a black flag.
  23. Race participants may select the appropriate class to their ability; if the chosen class is deemed inappropriate by the club executive the participant will be advised accordingly and moved to the appropriate class determined.
  24. Abuse in any form to volunteers or race staff will result in disqualification and potential suspension on repeat offenders.
  25. Riders meeting is mandatory for everyone, random attendance may be called anyone not at riders meeting for any reason may be penalized by not being permitted to race or starting backwards.
  26. Race Cancellations - Executive will decide race cancellations based on weather factors and/or track conditions. The decision will be made in interest of safety. Registration may be delayed to assess factors in deciding whether to race or cancel.
  27. Zero Refunds - There will be NO REFUNDS for Race Cancellations and/or Injury. It is expected that riders are aware of weather forecasts when registering for an event. Riders have the option to register for one day at a time. The club incurs costs when hosting an event, even if it is cancelled that all entry fees help cover these costs (ie. insurance, porta-potty, track prep costs, ambulance, etc.).

BIKE RULES & CLASS REGULATIONS

Age of participant as of January 1st of the current year.

For example, if you are 16 years old on Jan 1, then you are considered 16 years old from Jan 1 to Dec 31. If your 17th birthday is Jan 1, then you are considered 17 years old from Jan 1 to Dec 31.

If you are a rider that has aged out but are still riding a smaller bike than what is listed, a request to ride a certain class or vary rules for any person is required, it must be sent to CAMS for approval by email or in writing 48 hours before race day.

  • Stacyc – Kids ages 5 and under riding a 12e or 16e electric bike. No E2 or E5.
  • 50cc C – Kids the age of 8 and under at an entry level riding 50cc, E2, E5 or less. (First time racers & still learning). C level riders only allowed to ride 50 C they are not permitted to ride in 50 Open.
  • 50cc B - Kids the age of 8 and under at a Junior level of riding. 50cc or less.
  • 50cc A - Kids the age 8 and under at an Expert level of riding. 50cc or less.
  • 50cc Open – Kids ages 8 and under at all levels. 50cc or less
  • Kids on 110s may ride 50 A and 50 open but are not permitted in a 50 b or c class unless approved by race official.
  • Kids on 70cc 4stroke may ride any 50cc class.
  • 65 B – Kids ages 7-11 at a beginner to junior level. 65cc 2st, 110cc 4st
  • 65 A – Kids ages 7-11 at a junior to advanced level. 65cc 2st, 110cc 4st
  • (Kids on 50cc are not permitted in the 65cc classes)
  • 65 Open – Kids 7-11 all levels on 65cc 2st or 110cc 4st
  • 85 B – Youth ages 7-16 at a beginner to junior level. 85cc 2st, 125-150cc 4st
  • 85 A – Youth ages 7-16 at a Junior to Advanced level. 85cc 2st, 125-150cc 4st
  • No 65cc in 85cc Classes
  • Supermini – Youth ages 7-16. 85cc 2st – 112cc 2 st, 150cc 4st
  • Girls Junior - Youth ages 7-16. 50cc – 112cc 2st, 70cc – 150cc 4st
  • Girls Intermediate - Youth ages 7-16. 85cc - 112cc 2st, 150cc 4st
  • Ladies B – Beginner to Junior level. 85cc and up. (Not jumping well)
  • Ladies A – Junior to Advanced level. 85cc and up.
  • MOMS - Ladies entry level racing (No Jumping)
  • Beginner - Beginner entry level rider on full size bikes. No small bike
  • Junior B - Junior level rider still learning jumps. 125cc 2st, 250 4st - 450cc 4st. No small bikes
  • Junior A - Advanced Junior rider skilled at jumps. 125cc 2st – 450cc 4st
  • Schoolboy – Youth ages 12 – 17. 100cc 2st-450cc 4st
  • Intermediate Open - Intermediate level riders ages 12 and up. 125cc 2st - 450cc 4st
  • Premier GP - Intermediate to Advanced riders. 100cc 2st - 450cc 4st
  • Under 30 - Ages 18-29. Full size bikes
  • Vet Beginner – Ages 30 & up. Beginner entry level
  • Vet Junior - Ages 30 & up. Junior level (Can do some jumps)
  • Vet Intermediate - Ages 30 & up. Intermediate level (Jumps well)
  • Vet Expert - Ages 30 & up. Advanced rider.
  • Vet Open - Ages 30 & up riders of all levels.
